The PSALA is pleased to announce that the year’s Diversity event will be a 4-week Zoom series! The series will include topics on Disability Inclusion; How to Be Welcoming to LGBTQI+ Humans; The Historic Hotel Tour presented by Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience; and Social Justice in Action: Framework for Social Justice. We encourage PSALA members to invite colleagues from their firm for these FREE events. If you have any questions, please reach out to Denny Krantz at Dennyk@mhb.com. Thank you!
About the Event: Wing Luke Museum
The Historic Hotel Tour goes through the historically preserved spaces of the museum building. Our building was built in 1910 and was formerly a laborer’s hotel throughout the early 20th century. The Chinatown International District and the hotels like ours in it are a direct cause of redlining and racial covenants. Many immigrants from Asia and the Pacific found home here because they were not able to in other areas of Seattle. On this tour, we bring participants in (virtually!) through the old bedrooms of the Freeman Hotel to see what life was like for folks back then and how they were able to build a community here.
