We’ll also discuss the status of the Cyber insurance market for law firms, which are increasing difficult to insure. Lastly, we will examine several multi-million-dollar cyber business interruption and reputational loss claims, the cause, impact, recovery process and difficulty of settlement.

Senior Vice President, CRC Insurance
Mark A. Smith, Senior Vice President, CRC Insurance, is a cyber focused insurance wholesaler, specializing in cyber since its emergence as an insurance product in the early 2000’s. As head of CRC’s national Cyber Team, he works closely with many cyber insurers on their development and refinement of cyber policy forms and endorsements. He is a frequent industry speaker, writer and educator on all things cyber, having taught over 100 cyber-CE courses to insurance agents around the northwest. He is a graduate of WSU and splits his time between Arizona and Wisconsin with his labradoodles Roca and Snickers.
Steven Colson
Practice Leader & Senior Vice President – Professional Liability Practice for Lawyers, HUB International Northwest
Steven Colson is the Practice Leader and Senior Vice President for HUB International Northwest’s Professional Liability Practice for Lawyers and has over twenty years-experience in designing customized insurance and risk management programs. Steven has a diverse book of business but specializes in Professional Liability where his team oversees the insurance program for over 450 law firms. Steven proactively partners with clients and his colleagues to design and deliver insurance and risk management programs that will reduce their total cost of risk, contain or reduce costs and improve business processes. As the Professional Liability Practice Leader, he also works with his colleagues throughout the Pacific Northwest in assisting them with delivering programs that address the most complex asset protection for lawyers. Prior to joining HUB, Steven was a partner of one of the largest privately held insurance brokerages in Seattle.
