Join us, and please feel free to invite your firm colleagues, for an informative lunchtime session (with CLE, CLM, and SHRM credit) led by Kristi Richards of Salish Elder Law, focusing on essential aspects of long-term care planning for you and your parents. This learning activity will cover critical estate planning documents that are vital for ensuring proper care and management of assets.
Participants will understand Medicaid is separate from Medicare, with a focus on the basic rules surrounding Medicaid for the long-term medically needy. We will discuss exempt assets and the intricacies of spend-down periods, along with important timelines to keep in mind.

Meet Speaker:Â Kristi L. Richards
Kristi L. Richards is Of Counsel at Salish Elder Law. She focuses her practice on estate planning, elder law, and tax advice, as well as probate and trust administration. She enjoys the challenge of planning for individuals and couples with nontraditional planning needs, presenting information on estate planning and probate, and talking about tax. She received her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Buena Vista University, and her law degree and LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Washington.
