Join us and learn common sense tips on things you can do as an individual and as part of a community to reduce your chances of being a victim of crime. The focus is on basic personal safety precautions that people living, working, and commuting in the urban environment can take to stay safe, tips for calling 911 when police are needed and Q&A with Seattle Police Crime Prevention Coordinator and MID Safety Supervisor.

This is an in-person only event that is open all firms and their employees. Please forward to others in your organization, you won’t want to miss this!

Lunch will NOT be served but you can bring your own to eat during the training.

About the Speakers:

Barb Biondo is a Crime Prevention Coordinator (2017-present), assigned to Seattle Police Department’s busy, downtown West Precinct. Barb brings to this role expertise in evidence-based crime prevention and over 20 years of experience convening results-oriented, cross-sector collaborations to reduce crime and increase safety Seattle’s most diverse neighborhoods. Barb holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington-Evans School of Public Policy and Governance (2013) and is a Certified Practitioner Designation from the National Institute of Crime Prevention.

Sam Dick is a Safety Supervisor with the Metropolitan Improvement District (MID). Before he joined the DSA/MID, he taught elementary school primarily in the south Seattle. Sam is currently the Training Specialist for the MID/DSA and conducts internal trainings for new hires and external trainings for private/public organizations.
